Home Decor 889: Holiday Home Tour Sneak Peek: Rustic Christmas Entryway

I don't know what it is about soft furry blankets, old wood, rough burlap, and the smell of wintery pine, but the combination of all four make my heart go a flutter.

I'm one of those chicks who will cry over a life insurance commercial (and feel so silly about it) and walk through antique stores in total wonder just imagining where all of the old pieces have been and what they've seen in their former lives.

So when Christmas rolls around, I get all nostalgic and sentimental x 1000. And there's something about a rustic Christmas that takes me back and makes me feel like I'm living in the not-so-fast-paced life of a hundred years ago. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.

After finding the most legit rustic wagon bench ever the other week, I decided to go all out in creating a rustic entryway.

It's so cozy! I could live wrapped up in that soft faux fur blanket that I found at HomeGoods. Next week, I'll be sharing with y'all how I made our wall hooks, but for the next few days, I will be giving you sneak peeks of my Christmafied home. (Christmafied is a word, right? It is now anyway.)

It's nice finally having a little spot to sit and take our boots off near the door and even though we go ballistic over 3 inches down here in the Carolinas, I'm so ready for some snow! I solemnly swear to stock pile milk and bread until March. ;)

I still hope to eventually get a couple of crates for underneath the bench that we can toss shoes into, and one of the top items on my wish list for next year is creating board and batten in this hallway. Makes me wonder how much this little spot will have transformed next year.
